NEC ProgrammableFlow Controller 2.0 selected as a Best of Interop Finalist

NEC’s revolutionary OpenFlow-based ProgrammableFlow Controller (version 2.0) was honored this week when we were tapped as a Finalist for the competitive Best of Interop award.  A panel of 16 award-winning editors and analysts from InformationWeek Reports selects from over 130 entries to recognize the world’s most innovative technologies.  The NEC ProgrammableFlow Controller PF6800 was selected in the Management, Monitoring & Testing sector.  Last year, the ProgrammableFlow hybrid switch, the PF5240, took home the Best of Interop Infrastructure prize.

Best of Interop Awards 2012Announced this week, ProgrammableFlow Controller 2.0 continues NEC’s innovation in software defined networking and OpenFlow. Version 2.0 updates give organizations the ability to design, deploy, monitor and manage secure, multi-tenant networks from a single point of control and graphic user interface; it also further expands efficient provisioning of network bandwidth, helping optimize current network investments without acquiring additional bandwidth, leading to service agility and higher productivity.
